The Copenhagen Stress Research Center is a research collaboration between three leading stress research environments in the Copenhagen Area. The overall aim of the center is to establish a strong and growing Danish stress research environment. The Copenhagen Stress Research Center aims at covering following topics:

  • Definition of the stress concept
  • Bodily reactions to stress
  • Relationship between stress and health
  • Underlying mechanisms leading from stress to disease
  • Societal consequences of stress
  • Evidence-based methods of intervention and treatment of stress

The research collaboration also aims to promote recruitment and training of researchers within the stress research field.

The 16th Stress Research Conference

The Copenhagen Stress Research Center is pleased to announce the 16th Stress Research Conference. The conference aims to promote the exchange and discussion of new stress research, as well as help coordinate and strengthen Danish stress research. We welcome a wide and varied range of the latest knowledge on stress, and the conference will be visited by researchers and practitioners alike. 

The conference will take place on Wednesday, October 23th, 2019 at Bispebjerg Hospital, Copenhagen.


This year’s keynote speakers are Research Director, ScD, Maria Melchior, who will give a keynote on ‘Intergenerational transmission of stress and mental health difficulties’, and senior researcher, PhD, Jesper Kristiansen, whose keynote will cover the theme ‘How can stress and other mental health challenges be prevented at the workplace?’.

The 6 short oral presentations and the 13 poster presentations cover a variety of topics within stress research. These topics include stress related to childhood and adult life as well as stressors in private as well as working life.


If you want to register for the conference, please send an email with your name, position, institution and contact e-mail no later than October 1st to Please, indicate if you are a student as your participation fee is then reduced.

Registration is binding and participants are registered in the order they send the registration e-mail. The participation fee is 500 DKK (200 DKK for students). Participation is free of charge for presenting authors (oral presentations and posters).

You are therefore requested to state one of the following numbers: EAN number (public employees) or CVR number (employees in companies without EAN number). If you pay on your own, please state your CPR number.
